Nestled in the heart of rural Somerset, our holiday retreat was lovingly created by Nigel and Catherine with a simple vision — to share the peace and natural beauty of this special place with others. Since the beginning, it has been a sanctuary where guests can relax, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the quiet charm of countryside living.

In 1990, the lakes were carefully designed and created by William Pike, gradually maturing into a thriving habitat. Today, they are home to a rich variety of wildlife including common and mirror carp, perch, roach, and tench. The surrounding area is alive with nature — water voles, badgers, kingfishers, woodpeckers, owls, and an abundance of songbirds that fill the air with birdsong from dawn to dusk.

Willow Lodge was our first holiday home, built in 2005, followed by Kingfisher and Heron in 2007. Handcrafted in Latvia, these beautiful log cabins were precision-made, with each timber log cut to size and assembled on site, slot by slot, creating a warm and welcoming home-from-home.

In 2018, we expanded with two unique lodges — Bluebell and Foxglove — designed with romance in mind. Originally inspired by traditional Scandinavian BBQ huts, we added our own twist to create luxurious retreats complete with private hot tubs. These are the perfect hideaways for couples seeking a peaceful escape, a toast under the stars, and time to dream together.

Sadly, Nigel passed away in 2022, and Catherine has since retired, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, care, and hospitality that continues to guide us.

Now, the next generation — Shanna, Gary, and the girls Zara and Ayla — have taken up the mantle. As a family, we are proud to continue the journey, welcoming guests old and new, and ensuring that every stay with us is just as special as the last.

We look forward to welcoming you to our peaceful corner of Somerset, where memories are made, and the pace of life slows just enough to truly breathe it all in.
